We have a different photo theme bimontly and the two hour sessions take place in different outdoor locations around Las Vegas. It's a great opportunity to try something new with the guidance of a professional photographer, and come away with some new shots for your portfolio or album.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

What’s involved? Each session starts with an introduction to the theme, and the photography instructor will chat about the camera settings and techniques to use. You’ll then have time to take lots of photos, with the instructor present to answer any questions. You’ll receive feedback and have a chance to chat with everyone to share tips and ideas. We’re a social bunch!

After group editing session. After each group the instructor runs an optional 1.5 hour critique, select, and edit session to help you improve your important post-shoot skills. While much editing can be done on modern cameras, it's best to bring a tablet or laptop with editing software to get the most out of this session. Select this option when booking to attend.

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

We also occasionally hold more formal beginners classes which last 3 hours and are limited to 6 people. These classes are perfect for complete beginners who want to start using manual mode and those who want to brush up on the basics. See the dates below.

We had a great time learning about Street Photography last night with Amanda. It was our first Meet Up and I’m sure we will do others in the future.

Patterns in Photography - Downtown Las Vegas - 9am-11am
The Las Vegas Photography Group outing on Saturday 15th June will be hosted by Amanda Keating , with the theme of Patterns in Photography. Patterns surround us in both natural and manmade forms, offering photographers great opportunities for dramatic and eye catching shots. Using pattern is key to good composition and, when used effectively, can transform an otherwise bland image into something dramatic and eye catching. Patterns in photography create attention. ... Recognizing patterns is a composition technique that creates a stronger image. Shapes and lines are composition techniques as well. Patterns take them to a new level by repeating those shapes and lines. Book in to join the instructor after the group for a 1.5 hour critique, select, and edit session where you can develop your post shoot skills. Bring your tablet or laptop. Having a professional photographer on our critique sessions will help move your photography to a higher level. Your photos will be evaluated along with a lot of encouragement.
