Teach a Class
Come along to our bimonthly photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.
Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a casual photo walk with other local photographers. No formal lectures, just a chance to meet-up, share ideas and receive feedback! We have a different photo theme bimontly and the two hour sessions take place in different outdoor locations around Las Vegas. It's a great opportunity to try something new with the guidance of a professional photographer, and come away with some new shots for your portfolio or album.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

What’s involved? Each session starts with an introduction to the theme, and the photography instructor will chat about the camera settings and techniques to use. You’ll then have time to take lots of photos, with the instructor present to answer any questions. You’ll receive feedback and have a chance to chat with everyone to share tips and ideas. We’re a social bunch!

After group editing session. After each group the instructor runs an optional 1.5 hour critique, select, and edit session to help you improve your important post-shoot skills. While much editing can be done on modern cameras, it's best to bring a tablet or laptop with editing software to get the most out of this session. Select this option when booking to attend.

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

We also occasionally hold more formal beginners classes which last 3 hours and are limited to 6 people. These classes are perfect for complete beginners who want to start using manual mode and those who want to brush up on the basics. See the dates below.

Join the Las Vegas Photography Facebook Group to share your photos after the session.
We ask that everyone attending a meetup follows social distancing guidelines:

I enjoyed going over the basics and asking questions along the way. I feel I learned the most through exercises in the field. Real world scenarios worked out the best for me. Thank you for a great class.

I always come to these with a preconceived notion about either the location or the subject matter. Every single time those notions are obliterated and I get to a better understanding of who I am as a photographer and what is possible. I thought-silhouettes? That sounds pretty straight forward. By the second challenge I found myself crawling through the grass hunting peacocks, laying in dirt discovering the wonder I never noticed in backlit picnic tables and enjoying the company of strangers and friends alike. I realised how much depth and interest a silhouette can bring to an image and using light in New ways was really fun. Amanda brings a great energy to every session and is helpful with questions whether basic or complex.
